Economics graduate student Arpita Banerjee-Chakraborty has won a 2009-10 dissertation year fellowship. Her dissertation, titled "Trade Reforms and Indian Informal Sector," proposes a novel theoretical model to show the reason behind stagnant informal sector wages in the face of growing demand in India for informal (unorganized) workers.
