OMICRON DELTA EPSILON Induction Ceremony
April 25th, 2008 - Omicron Delta Epsilon is one of the world's largest academic honor societies. The University of New Hampshire began a collegiate chapter in 1964 in recognition of the scholastic attainment and the honoring of outstanding achievements in economics.
The objectives of ΟΔΕ are recognition of scholastic attainment and the honoring of outstanding achievements in economics; the establishment of closer ties between students and faculty in economics within colleges and universities, and among colleges and universities; the publication of its official journal, The American Economist, and sponsoring of panels at professional meetings as well as the Irving Fisher and Frank W. Taussig competitions.

Economics majors with outstanding academic records will be invited to join Omicron Delta Epsilon (ΟΔΕ), the International Honor Society in Economics. In order to be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:
- Junior or senior standing
- An overall GPA of 3.4 or better
- Successful completion of Intermediate Microeconomics (ECON 605) or Intermediate Macroeconomics (ECON 611)
Invitation letters for the Induction Ceremony are sent out in mid-to-late November and the ceremony takes place in December.
ODE sponsors a number of social and professional development events that are open to all students interested in economics (not just members). Details will be posted here.
