UNH prof, other experts: Recovery not yet under way

Ross Gittell, a professor at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire, said he doesn't see anything that suggests the recession will end soon.

"There are not many strong signs of recovery," he wrote in an e-mail to the newspaper. "The main (what might be viewed as) positive indicators are moderation in the declines in employment in New Hampshire and the New England region. There are also some indications that the residential housing market is near its bottom, with increasing sales activity."
