If there’s anyone who can find a silver lining to the current economic recession, it’s Brian Bolton, assistant professor of accounting and finance. The transformation of the analytical world of finance into a world of intrigue, deception, and breathtaking ethical lapses has motivated students to learn more about the field than ever before.

Guest speaker, Michael P. Berry '71, is the president of a Boston-based consulting and investment firm specializing in the hospitality management industry. He has held leadership positions at such prestigious organizations as Walt Disney, Harvard University, and Barnes & Noble Booksellers.

Stillwagon Wins University's Best Master's Paper Award

Economics graduate student Josh R. Stillwagon has won UNH's best master's paper award. His paper was written under the supervision of Professors Michael Goldberg and Jose Noguera. Stillwagon's Master's Thesis on identifying the shortcomings of contemporary foreign exchange market models delighted his nominators, who found it "showed a deep knowledge" of many complex subject areas.

DURHAM, N.H. –University of New Hampshire Professional Development and Training will host a one-day conference “Leading in Times of Change” Friday, Nov. 20, 2009.

Designed for managers, supervisors, project and team leaders, the conference will be held at Wentworth-by-the-Sea Hotel in New Castle, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with check-in at 8:30 a.m.

Elective options under the Full-time and Part-time MBA includes study of how firms pioneer Corporate Social Responsibility, how they were influenced, and how others were thereby inspired to do the same. This research will help to identify how CSR values are transmited through corporate and social networks, and the influence of these values on regional entrepreneurship.
